The MSCEIT 2 (MSCEIT second edition) is here! MSCEIT 2 is an ability measure of emotional intelligence. It's an objective measure, critical because many people overestimate their EI!  We certify MSCEIT Practitioners and support the continued professional development of certified practitioners around the world. We can schedule a course if you have 4 or more participants. (People we previously certified on MSCEIT can attend MSCEIT 2 course at our cost - see below.)

MSCEIT 2 is an ability-based assessment of emotional intelligence. MSCEIT has been the subject of more than 1,000 research articles over the last 20+ years. The MSCEIT 2, launched in 2025, provides test-takers with an objective assessment of their four, core emotional intelligence skills. MSCEIT 2 consists of 12 tasks designed to engage test takers and utilizes the latest test development approaches. New client and coach reports present the test-taker and test administrator with easy-to-understand and actionable results. 

 

About Certification: Test publishers provide certification for their assessments, and in the case of MSCEIT 2, Multi-Health Systems (MHS), is the publisher. David helped develop the certification course content and together with colleagues provides certification training.  

 

Certification Pre-Work: There are a few steps to complete before moving to certification content.  

• MSCEIT Online Pre-work: Watch 10 short videos covering test development.

• Take the MSCEIT 

• Your MSCEIT Feedback: Once you take the MSCEIT, a MSCEIT certified person will give you feedback and will e-mail your MSCEIT report after the feedback session. The session takes 1 hour. 

• Review of Materials: you will get access to our materials.

Course Content: Course prework includes 10 informative and engaging videos, taking the MSCEIT 2 and receiving a one-on-one feedback session. This allows us to focus the live session around interpreting, applying MSCEIT 2 results and discussion. 

 

Course Facilitators: The course is co-facilitated by David Caruso (MSCEIT 2 co-author) and Erica Hansen (executive coach who has conducted the most MSCEIT 2 feedback sessions to date and also conducts hands-on training on the ability model). 

 

Post-Course Support: I am happy to stay in touch and assist you as you employ the MSCEIT in your practice and/or research.

 

Fees and Costs: The fee for the 1-day virtual certification program is 2295USD. Group and educational discounts available – please ask.
